As of 21:00, there were a total of approx. 12,726 soccer fans in the Fan Zones (Friedensplatz: approx. 5311 / Westfalenpark: approx. 7415).

The atmosphere in the Fan Zones and other locations has been good without exception. The police have already had many conversations with cheerful fans from Germany and Scotland. Fans have repeatedly used their contact with the police to take photos.

The police are also temporarily using drones in Dortmund today and on the following days, weather permitting. The drones will send live images to the incident command, giving them a good overview of the situation in the event areas. The use of privately used drones is currently not permitted.

Update at 00:25 (15.6.2024):

Around 13,500 soccer fans experienced an atmospheric EURO 2024 kick-off on Friday (14.6.2024) in the Fan Zones on Friedensplatz and in Westfalenpark in Dortmund.

From the perspective of the Dortmund police, the operation went well. As of 23:45, the police can look back on a peaceful operation with exemplary fan behavior.

On Saturday (15.6.2024), the teams from Italy and Albania will play at 21:00 in the Dortmund stadium. The police are asking stadium guests to arrive early, ideally by public transport.

The police will once again be on duty to ensure the safety of fans on the second matchday.
